You may have more files on your SD card than I do, but just make sure you have all the files I have placed a red dot next to. You should now have something that looks like this:
Once you’ve found your region and DS type and selected it, click download and then copy this to the root of your SD card. Click only on the blue links circled above and not the links in the line next to them.Ĩ. Look for the circled files above and then find your region (so eur for Europe, jpn for Japan and usa for USA), and your DS type (so n3ds for both New 3DS and New 3DS XL, and o3ds for all other 3DS and 2DS). Go to THIS website and scroll down the page until you see this: The last thing you’ll need is the actual sound file. Once you have selected your firmware, click on the “Download otherapp” option circled above.Ħ.Once you have downloaded this to your computer copy it to the root of your SD card and rename it to otherapp.binħ. So if you are in Europe, New Zealand or Australia you should select E, If you’re in the USA select U and if you’re in Japan select J. It’s important to note that the last option “E” is for the region of your DS. Only select NEW If you have a New3DS or New3DS XL For all other 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS leave it as OLD. Enter the systems firmware that you took note of earlier. Once you’ve done that, go back HEREand scroll further down the page until you see the Otherapp/ropbin payloads. There’s no file or folder to place this in, you just need it on your SD card.Ĥ. Click on the circled link to download the starter kit.ģ.Once you have the starter kit downloaded to your computer, unzip the file and extract or drag and copy it to the root of your SD card. Scroll down the page until you see the below image. The next thing you need to do is go HERE and download the homebrew starter kit. For new 3DS users, you can use the SD card management found in your system settings to avoid removing the micro SD card.Ģ. Take a note of this and then, power down your DS, remove the SD card and put in your computer.
If you’ve already done this and just need help with the How To of the ACNL save editor, you can skip to step 10.ġ.The first thing you’ll need to do is, go to your system settings on your DS and, on the top screen, bottom right corner, you’ll see your systems firmware. I’m going to start with how to set up your DS to access homebrew. This works for 2DS, old and new 3DS and old and new 3DS XL, and is currently available for Europe, Japan and the USA but don’t worry, other regions are being worked on! You can check HERE to keep up to date on the progress for your region. I hope this helps you but if you have any problems don’t hesitate to MESSAGE ME either via ask or IM! Homebrew Setup- including setup instructions for Soundhax (i’ll add oothax later) Most hacking tutorials only mention how to set up homebrew and don’t explain how to actually go about hacking and using the save editor, which I know can also be confusing for some of you so, I will also be including that in my tutorial! I’m going to place all the information under the cut because it’s quite lengthy, and also so that I will be able to keep the information up to date. Setting up Soundhax is fairly straightforward, but for those of you who are still having issues or are new to hacking altogether, I’ve decided to put together this step by step, pictured tutorial which I hope should help you! With the recent release of Soundhax, hacking is once again possible again for everyone even on the most current version 11.2-0.35!
